Prof. Changxi Ma

Biography:

Changxi Ma, PhD in Engineering, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of the School of Transportation, is also the Chair of the Technical Committee on Traffic Operations Safety of the World Congress of Transportation (2017-2019) and the Co-Chair of the Technical Committee on Traffic Safety Policy and Transportation Management of the World Congress of Transportation (2020-2022). He has published in Transportation Research Part B/E/F, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, Analytic Methods in Accident Research, and Neural. He has published more than 50 SCI/SSCI papers in journals such as Transportation Research Part B/E/F, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, Analytic Methods in Accident Research, Neural Computing and Application, Accident Analysis and Prevention, etc., and more than 40 EI papers in journals such as China Journal of Highway and Journal of Transportation Engineering. He has applied for 7 invention patents as the first inventor, and won more than 20 provincial and municipal scientific and technological progress awards; he has presided over 3 National Natural Science Foundation projects, and 3 scientific research projects of the Ministry of Education; in 2016, he was selected by the Organization Department of Gansu Provincial Party Committee as a "Longyuan Young Innovative and Entrepreneurial Talent", and was selected for the "Hundred Talents Program" in 2019. In 2016, he was selected as "Longyuan Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talent" by the Organization Department of Gansu Provincial Committee, and in 2019, he was selected as "Hundred Talents Program".

Prof. Wai Yuen SZETO 

The University of Hong Kong (HKU), China

Director of Institute of Transport Studies

Biography: 

Prof. W.Y. Szeto is an Associate Head at the Department of Civil Engineering at The University of Hong Kong, and the Director of the Institute of Transport Studies at that university. He is a Top 1 % Scholar during 2015-2023 (according to Clarivate Analytics’ Essential Science Indicators) and currently a World’s Top 2% Scientist by Stanford University. His current h-index is 65 (Google Scholar). He is an author of over 170 refereed journal papers, with two papers in Operations Research and 34 papers in Transportation Research Part B. His publications have been cited over 12700 times (Google Scholar). The publications are related to shared mobility, dynamic traffic assignment, transport network design, public transport, network reliability, game theoretic approaches to transport and logistic problems, modeling land use, transport and environment interaction, and sustainable transport. Currently, he is an Editor-in-Chief of Transportmetrica B, an Associate Editor of Transportation Research Part D and Transportation Research Part E, Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems, Transportmetrica A, Travel Behaviour and Society, an Area Editor of Networks and Spatial Economics, and an Editorial Board Member of Transportation Research Part C and International Journal of Sustainable Transportation.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Md. Hasanuzzaman

University of Malaya, Malaysia

Biography:

Dr. Md. Hasanuzaman is currently working as Associate Professor at the UM Power Energy Dedicated Advanced Centre, Higher Institution Centre of Excellence (HICoE), University of Malaya, Malaysia. He was listed among the World's Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University & Elsevier for the years 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021 & 2020; Top 10 Scientists in Malaysia (Mechanical Engineering), Engineering & Technology, AD Scientific Index 2025. He is recipient of AUA Scholars Award 2023-2024, Excellence Bangladeshi Academician Award 2024, Universiti Malaya Excellent Service Awrad 2023, Universiti Malaya Excellent Service Certificate 2021. Dr. Hasan served as the Programme Coordinator Master of Renewable Energy, Double Degree Programme with Master of Energy Science, Kyoto University, Japan from April 2012 to September 2020. He earned his PhD and an M. Eng. Sc. from the University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia and a B. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Bangladesh. He is a recipient of UM Excellence Award 2012 for his outstanding achievement in his PhD; merit Scholarship from Bangladesh Scholarship Council and Nippon Foundation, Japan in 2003-2004. Dr. Hasan’s research interests include Thermal Engineering, Renewable Energy, Solar Thermal, Energy and Buildings, Energy Policy, Electric and Hydrogen Vehicles, Sustainability and Carbon Pricing. He is an Associate Editor of the Alexandria Engineering Journal, Elsevier; Guest Editor of Renewable Energy. His 2 books: (1) Technologies for Solar Thermal Energy, 2022 and (2) Energy for Sustainable Development, 2020 published by Elsevier.
